Crevettes au beurre toscanes

Here’s a recipe for Crevettes au Beurre Toscanes (Tuscan Butter Shrimp), a rich and flavorful dish perfect for a quick but elegant meal!

Ingredients:

  • 🍤 500g large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 🧂 Salt and pepper to taste
  • 🌶️ 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional for heat)
  • 🧄 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 🧈 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 🥛 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 🧀 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 🥬 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
  • 🍅 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes (drained and chopped)
  • 🍋 Juice of 1 lemon
  • 🌿 Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and chili flakes (if using). Set aside.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: Heat 2 tbsp of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add Cream and Parmesan: Pour in the heavy cream, stir in the Parmesan, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Add Tomatoes and Spinach: Stir in the sun-dried tomatoes and spinach, and cook until the spinach wilts.
  6. Finish with Shrimp: Add the cooked shrimp back into the sauce. Squeeze lemon juice over and let it cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh basil and serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
